Crafted for the specialized needs of coniferous species, our Premium Conifer Blend is a high-performance, mineral-heavy substrate with a touch of premium organic acidity.  This mix is engineered for maximum structural longevity and breathability, ensuring that your tree’s roots have constant access to oxygen—the most critical factor in developing the fine, fibrous root systems seen in masterwork conifers.

Key Ingredients:

• Japanese Kiryuzuna:  The backbone of any elite conifer mix.  This hard, river-derived sand is naturally rich in iron and provides the weight and stability that pines and junipers love.
• Hard-Fired Akadama:  Provides essential water regulation and nutrient cation exchange (CEC), helping your tree absorb fertilizers efficiently.
• Black Lava & Hyuga Pumice:  A dual-volcanic engine that provides permanent aeration.  These stones will never crush or float, preventing the much that leads to root rot.
• New Zealand Pine Bark Fines:  Adds a vital organic component that buffers the pH to a slightly acidic level and provides a home for beneficial mycorrhizae.
• Zeolite:  Acts as a "nutrient magnet," trapping fertilizer and releasing it slowly to prevent nutrient lockout and salt buildup.
• pH:  6.5

Conifers rely heavily on Mycorrhizae—a beneficial white fungus found in the roots.  Our blend’s New Zealand Pine Bark and Zeolite content creates the perfect porous environment for this fungus to colonize, leading to stronger needles and faster trunk thickening.
