Camellia Sinensis (Tsubaki) Oil

Why Every Bonsai Artist Needs Camellia Oil:

Acid-Free Protection: Unlike many household oils, Camellia oil is chemically neutral. It won't react with the metal or cause discoloration on the wood handles of your tools.
Non-Drying & Non-Sticky: It provides a thin, protective film that stays liquid longer than mineral oils, ensuring your shears don't "gum up" during storage.
Bonsai Safe: Since it is a plant-based oil, any residue that transfers to the tree during pruning is completely harmless to the plant's vascular system.
Rust Dissolver: When used with a Sabitoru (Rust Eraser), Camellia oil acts as a lubricant to lift existing oxidation without scratching the steel.

Clean: Wipe away any sap or dirt using a damp cloth.
Dry: Ensure the tool is completely dry to prevent trapping moisture under the oil.
Apply: Place 2–3 drops of Camellia Oil on a clean rag or applicator.
Coat: Rub a thin, even layer over all metal surfaces, including the pivot point of the shears.
Store: Place in a tool roll or dry area.
